As we have watched the world take on the challenges presented to us through Covid-19 we have all had to re evaluate and reprioritise what is most important for the health and wellbeing for ourselves, our families, our neighbours and our wider communities. At the Waikato Farmers’ Market, we aim to support and secure our local food production; connecting our hard working growers and producers with their rich, diverse, nutrient dense foods to our local, hungry Hamiltonians and Cambridge residents. A huge part of this notion is keeping you, and our staff, our farmers and our food supply safe.
How do we do this?
• Each farmer strictly abides to the MPIs Safety Practice advice.
• Our Pick and Pack warehouse is kitted out with the necessary PPE.
• Staff are fully inducted with a health and safety protocol
• Delivery is contactless.
• Is my food traceable?
Absolutely. As you shop and browse online, each product you purchase is personally delivered by the farmers to our pick and pack space. Here you order is automated into a packing slip where the food is distributed into each customer box and sent straight to you. • What H&S precautions are you taking with my food?
All individuals are trained onsite on proper handwashing, food safety handling and effective preventive action. Staff are geared up with protective gloves, to minimise direct contact with foods and we are restricted to reasonable social bubbles.
• What does contactless mean?
Our delivery service will drop your parcel at your door and provide a minimum of 2m distance with any interaction.
